Big Changes!

Bobby & Thuy have had a lot of big changes & big purchases in the last year or so! A baby girl, new house, and most recently the purchase of a new car! They came in twice this week as they were purchasing their car from the Subaru dealer right down the road. Since they live in Derry they typically go to our Derry location. So of course, I was very happy to have seen them twice in one week! I thought it would be sweet to hook them up with lunch on us! They love T-BONES and love what we’re doing. They were more than happy to pay it forward!

The other day I was waiting on a table and I over heard them say happy anniversary to one another. They are regulars here so I thought it would be nice to get a gift card for another visit. They were very thankful and cant wait to pay it forward.

Happy Anniversary

My RAK involved a couple who were celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary. Kathie and Charlie Luciano are their names. They have been regular guests for quite some time. Charlie is a person who walks in the room and his mere presence brings a smile to everyone. I took care of their dinner and they were excited to pay it forward.

Stumble In, Wheel Out

Today we had a very nice guest, Helen, who struggled mightily entering the building.  Helen usually has a wheelchair when visiting, but it was left in a relative’s car and unavailable today.  She did not want that to keep her from her T-Bones lunch!  The long walk to her table proved a bit more challenging than expected, and Helen had a little spill (don’t worry, she literally fell into me and was okay!) While she was dining, I decided it may be a good idea to acquire a wheelchair for Helen’s departure, called around to locate one, and headed out.  She was very appreciative when I returned with her new ride, and relieved that her trip out would be much less eventful than her trip in!  I offered Helen to keep the wheelchair, but she refused.  I’ve been thinking it may be beneficial for us to have one on hand anyway, so I was able to get it and help out a great guest!

St. Paddy’s Day!

Being St. Patrick’s Day, I ask the host to be on the look out for the most green/dressed up guest so that I could RAK them.  We found them in our lounge.  A couple of ladies were starting their day here at CJ’s with some Shamrock-Ritas and appetizers and they were head to toe green & festive.  I bought them some necklaces & green items to compliment their attire and gave them each a $17 gift certificate to use next time.  They were psyched to PIF and said they would be seeing tons of people today.

Mom of 3 for Lunch

Yesterday a mom of 3 was coming in for lunch with her kids.  She had a 1 year old, a 3 year old, a 9 year and just herself.  As a mom of 4, I know the desire to take your kids out and do nice things for them, but sometimes it is quite the task all by yourself.  All of the children were so well behaved and the oldest was being very helpful.  When I went over and told her that I was taking care of the entire check because of the connection I have with he situation she was floored and so surprised.  Come to find out it was the oldest birthday and they were out to celebrate! SCORE!

Cancer in Remission

Today a couple, Barb & Rich Nardian, joined us for lunch and said they were celebrating. Come to find out that Rich had been undergoing treatment for cancer and found out today that it was in remission. We felt we should add onto the good feel of the day, so we RAKd their lunch. It came as a surprise to them, and they were very thankful for the opportunity to pay it forward.

RAK for our Bank Receptionist

Every morning when we call the bank to give them our change order, Shirley answers in her happy, upbeat way and it’s a great way to start the day.  Recently, she shared with me that she has cancer, but again she was positive and upbeat!  Tuesday morning when she answered she was not herself, so I asked how she was doing.  She had to move from her home this weekend and was just feeling down and tired and also sick too (I assume from treatments).   I made a gift certificate and booked over to our local florist on my way to the bank, ordered a beautiful bouquet flowers to brighten up the dreary day.  I wrote out and attached a nice note to the Gift Certificate/PIF GC to add to the arrangement-it was delivered a few hours later and it made her day.  She even tucked a nice thank you note into our change bag this morning…

90 + 1

Saturday we had a large party of 10 join us for lunch. In the party was Willie, a WWII vet celebrating his 90th birthday along with his great grand-daughter, Grace, who was celebrating her 1st. I took care of lunch for Willie and his wife, and got a heartfelt thank you along with a firm handshake from him as they all were leaving. His daughter then came back to talk to me after the party had left to say they really appreciated the gesture and looked forward to coming back, as we are the midway point for the family to get together.
