Last week, these nice ladies both came in to celebrate their birthdays. I remember them from my days when I first started at T-Bones, but hadn’t seen them in a long while. They always come in together and have the same thing, just like back in the day. When I found out their special event, I hooked them up with lunch.
Bad News/Good News
A bar guest was talking with my bartender Kristy today. She mentioned that her father had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. She asked me if I could do the Random Act of Kindness to help brighten her day. I hope we helped to ease the pain she was feeling.
Sweet Engagement
Tonight I bought dessert for a couple sitting at the bar. They come in often and are recently engaged. Tonight they were in the mood for mudslides and dessert. They said they will think carefully about who they pay it forward to.
91st Birthday!
Mary was in to celebrate her 91st birthday with her children and their spouses. After singing happy birthday to her, and then hearing how happy she was and how much she loved our Baked Haddock; I knew she was deserving of a Random Act of Kindness. I let her and her family know that her lunch was on us and they couldn’t believe it! Mary is very excited to pay it forward and also to come back again to celebrate next year! 🙂
Friends Consoling Each Other
We had two ladies in Friday night, one had just lost her husband and the other had to put down her dog. It was an awful week for these friends. I gave them a generous gift certificate to come again. As they were telling me how much they love it here, we all got a little teary and they were floored with what we do for our guests.
“Our Favorite Spot”
Tonight I decided to give my RAK to a wonderful couple (David and Michelle) from London, England. They have been frequenting us often, and I wanted to drop by and let them know that we appreciate their patronage! They were floored when I gave them a GC to come have dinner on us next time! Michelle said, “this is Our Favorite Spot” in her awesome British accent! When I gave them a PIF GC, they were excited to tell me that they have English friends that they will give it to! They tell everyone about us, and have never had a bad experience here! It was so fun to meet some new regulars, and make their night!! Amanda Bisson Copper Door
Fellow Graduate 1988 NHS!
Tonight I was able to visit with a good friend of mine from NHS! Hadn’t seen him in while. He was out with his family celebrating his son’s birthday. Come to find out his son has quite the interest with Gettysburg just as I do. Picked up their dinners and handed his son the PIF. They were really excited to be chosen and will be coming back soon to let me know who they chose to PIF.
Oldie but Goodie!
Janine and Agon are quite the regulars here in Hudson. They are here at least 3 times a week either just the two of them – or with another couple. I always enjoy going back and forth with them when they are here and tonight I thought I would take care of them. They were thrilled! Janine gave me the biggest hug and you could tell Agon was deeply touched. I am sure I will see them soon and look forward to hear who they PIF too!
Looks Can Be Deceiving
Since I do not live in Hudson, I did not know some guests & what their professions are. However, I was lucky enough to have Rachel working host the other afternoon and she gave me some insight on a table of young men who wouldn’t have looked more to me than a group of guys out for some lunch & drinks. Come to find out, they were very deep into helping improve our community in many ways with the careers they had chosen. Some were police officers, teachers, and some on their way to getting their masters. We thought it would be nice to hook them up with lunch to thank them for all they do day in and day out! They were very surprised & more than happy to pay it forward when they were out and about!
Ladies Lunch
Two women came in for lunch yesterday to enjoy their very favorite dish, Fresh Baked Haddock. After stopping by to chat, I learned quite a bit about these ladies. Nearly a 30 year age difference, (one of them feisty as ever at 94) they had found quite the friendship after becoming neighbors some time ago. They were joking about how they almost read each other’s minds sometimes, and how comforting it was to have each other since they had both lost their husbands/family who they spent the majority of their time with. I let them know about our Random Act of Kindness promotion and they thought it was amazing. I told them I was picking up their lunch, and they couldn’t believe it! These are my favorite RAKs! I received hugs from both and a sincere ‘Thank you’. They were more than happy to pay it forward!
