Happy 83rd Mary!

Mary is a long time regular here in Bedford and one of the nicest ladies you will ever meet.  She was in tonight with 26 of her family members!  I bought their apps and gave Mary the PIF to give out!  She was over the moon!

A Birthday Celebration

Today I notice my hostess, Jamie, sitting down with some customers. I found out that she was eating lunch with her grandparents and it was her grandfather’s 88th birthday. I went over to explain to them what the random acts of kindness initiative was and to buy their lunches. They were so happy and said that they just may need to come back. Jamie later told me how excited they were!

Repaying the Kindness

Last Friday I was surprised to see Annie and Elisha dining at T-Bones in Derry with Annie’s 2 young sons. I know Annie and Elisha from Maddie’s Restaurant in Salem. My father in law goes to Maddie’s 7 days a week, and they treat him like a King. I picked up their tab, and they could not believe it. I was so happy to do so, as the manager at Maddie’s picks up Kenny’s tab every single day. They decided that they would flip a coin to see who got to take the gift certificate in to the community to Pay it Forward.

Sunday Lunch for Two

My RAK for last week went to Jean and Debbie who dined in Derry on Sunday afternoon. I wanted it to be truly random, the first table I saw. Jean and his wife Debbie just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I told them about the Random Acts of Kindness that we were doing at every location, and they were pleasantly surprised. They were also very happy to receive the $25.00 gift certificate to give away in the community.

Being Deployed to Germany!

My Rak this week went to a family who had just got back from driving to Texas to pick up their son where he was stationed.  They learned on their way back to New Hampshire that he was going to be deployed to Germany in July.  They came in for dinner tonight to eat after their long drive home, son still in uniform.  They told me how proud of their son they were and how wonderful it is to see kind people in the world.  The father is priest and says that as a family they often do random acts of kindness and was very happy to be a recipient of one.

Needed a Smile!

Tonight Diane, a regular came in for take out. We haven’t seen her in awhile due to her husband having a stroke and not doing well.  She feels weird coming in without him.  We bought her take out and gave her a PIF to make someone else’s day a little brighter!  I’m glad we could brighten her day even if it was just for a moment!

Happy Anniversary

Had a very nice couple come in to celebrate their 54th wedding anniversary.  When I went over and told them that we were buying their meal they were totally blown away.  They said no one has ever treated them the way this restaurant has treated them!  They are also excited to pay it forward.

Counting Down the Days

Every Friday for the past month we have had a very nice couple come in for lunch after they get out of their doctors appointment next door to us. She is pregnant and has her weekly visit to the doctors and craves our food after. She is a week from the due date and I gave her a gift certificate so after the baby is born she can come in and enjoy our food again. They were so thrilled and said they will definitely be back!

Serving Our Country

I did a  random act of kindness tonight for a former employee and his family.  His name is Jeff Gagnon.  He used to work in our kitchen and left to go to active military duty.  He currently serves and seems to come visit whenever he is home.  He is a really nice guy, was a fantastic cook and employee, and puts his neck on the line every day to protect us all.

Today we had Bill and Marguerite out celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary (and on a side note…Bills 89th birthday).  They were out with their 2 granddaughters for lunch.  We decided to surprise them by taking care of their lunch!  They were all totally blown away.  I mentioned to Bill “what a birthday gift you got 65 years ago” pointing to Marguerite.  They were such a nice couple and we were happy to choose them today as our Pay it Forward and help them celebrate!
