Visitors from Virginia!

Had a nice middle aged couple come in today from Virginia. They were saying to their server, Emma,  how everything was wonderful here and how glad they were that they chose to come here for lunch. Emma then asked if they have ever dined with any other of our restaurants and they said it was their first time in New Hampshire! I was very excited to be able to welcome them and get to “wow” them on their first trip to our great state and thank them for picking us for lunch, so I picked up their entire tab and asked them to pay it forward! The were very pleased and said they will definitely make a trip back to New Hampshire to visit us!

Veteran’s Count

Sunday May 20th 2017, I was working on the floor. I kept walking by table 11 with a gentlemen with a hat on saying he was a veteran.  I must have walked by a few times and each time I walked by his hat caught my eye.  Two years ago at this time I lost my dad who was 93 and also a Veteran. I figured what better way to honor my dad than to stop by and talk to this gentlemen and his wife. I went and got a RAK and a $25.00 GC for them to come back… I went and sat with them.. Yes and you guessed it I had tears in my eyes… cause thats is just me… I explained the RAK to them and how it works .  He and his wife were very happy to hear that we did the random acts of kindness and were more than happy to pass it on to someone that “caught their eye”… All and all they made my day and i do believe i made theirs…

Fellow Bartenders!

Today I had the pleasure of doing a RAK for some of our fellow bartenders from Grand Slam Grill & Bar! Many of our staff frequents Grand Slam and they always treat us so well, I thought it would be great to treat them to dinner and pay it forward. They were super appreciative and thankful, and couldn’t wait to pass it along to some other folks in the industry 🙂

Mr. & Mrs. Lewis

The Lewis’s are long time regulars at Bedford!  Today I received an email asking if we delivered.  The short story I got to “Yes” and asked her to give me a call. When I spoke with Valerie she explained that her and her husband have been stuck in the house for a few months due to a hit and run car accident and they missed us!  I was more than happy to help them out and of course I had to RAK them! Valerie was so moved about me buying her dinner she had to hand the phone to her husband so he could give me their address!  On my way out to bring them their dinner ….. they don’t know about the PIF yet!  HEHE

Familiar Faces!

I have recently started training for Assistant Management, and today I was able to do my first Random Act of Kindness! When walking through the dining room I recognized some familiar faces (regulars that have dined with us for YEARS). I remembered waiting on them on one of my very first serving shifts here at T-Bones Bedford, and they were so kind to me that I just knew I had to do something for them!  I was happy to sit down with them for a few minutes to catch up, and gave them a $25 gift certificate for their next visit. They were more than thankful, and mentioned that they remembered me from when I was a server on the floor over 5 years ago!

Solo on Her Birthday

Had a woman come in by herself today for her birthday. I went over to talk to her and visit for a little while when I found out it was a tradition of herself and her son to go to T-Bones for her birthday every year. This year is the first time he was not with her as he is serving in our armed forces as a Marine. I sat with her for a while and listened to her speak of him and how proud she is for him to be serving our country. I held her hand as she cried mixed tears of joy and sadness. I then gave her a Gift Card and told her the next time he is on leave or home for good to bring him in and let us take care of the bill. I also gave her a Pay It Forward so she could make others smile as well. I gave her a hug and told her to please tell her son hello from T-Bones and that we will see him soon.

Still Some Kindness

I had an elderly couple come into the lounge to grab a bite to eat. Looking around and seeing only hightop tables left, they began to try to climb into the seats. A family sitting at a close by booth saw what was going on and immediately jumped into action. The mother asked if they would like to switch and that they would be willing to give up their booth and move their food and drinks to the hightop in order to let the couple have their spot. The couple was in shock that a complete stranger would do such a thing. Right at that moment, one of the other booths got up, so I intervened, and explained to the older couple that i would have a booth cleared for them in a matter of seconds and get them into it. They were thankful and got them in right away. I then returned to the table who had so graciously offered their booth with a Gift Certificate and explained that there are not enough kind people left in the world, that I was thankful for the gesture they had made to the couple. I gave them the Gift Certificate and a Pay it Forward certificate as well, and told them to continue to be kind to people and give a gift on us to someone else. They were so happy and thankful.

Lost But Not Forgotten

The T-Bones family recently lost a restaurant regular. A gentleman by the name of Wilbur Perkins has been a regular and frequent guest at our Bar here at T-Bones of Bedford for many years. He always sat in the same seat, unless someone else beat him to it which was seldom, the same drink, and the same personality every visit. Our bar staff knew him better than anyone and saw him truly as a member of the family. He had a caregiver who was always with him to help him from day to day. Her name is Heather and she is an amazing person as well. Today Heather was in after his service, probably where Wilbur would have wanted to go too, and had dinner with her significant other Sean. I took care of their tab and told her that the T-Bones family was truly sorry for her loss. She was very thankful. Wilbur may not be back to visit us, however we will always see his face at seat one everyday.

55 Years Strong!

Had an elder couple that came in tonight and sat in the dining room. Gloria (host) pulled me aside and told me that when they came in the husband explained that they were supposed to be at the copper door with reservation but he got a little lost and decided to come here instead.  After, Gloria called the Copper Door to have them take the couple off of the list and they let her know the couple was supposed to be celebrating their anniversary. This was perfect in my mind to do a RAK! So when they ordered dessert, Liz(server) brought it out on a plate that I wrote “Happy Anniversary” in chocolate on! After they were done with everything I went over and explained that I wanted to make their night a little more special and pick up their tab. They were so appreciative and was very impressed that they get to pay it forward too.

Supermom!

The other day I had a mom and her daughter in our dinning room, at one point during their lunch I saw the mother running out the door with her child. At first I was scared something was wrong with her daughter but come to find out she was being a good citizen. This mother ran all the way out side, child on hip to just bring another guest something they had just forgotten at their table. How could I ignore this? I COUlDN’T! A few moments later i presented her with a $25.00 GC for her next visit and $25.00 RAK for her to give to someone else… Needless to say she was very very happy!
