A Little “Pick Me Up”!

Pamela is a somewhat regular who comes in from time to time just to get some broth only French Onion Soup.  She is such a frail woman who has been going thru some medical issues for quite some time.  Treatments, medications, etc. has really taken a toll on her physically and mentally (just wants to give up).  We took care of her takeout today (with my host Jamie) which immediately brought tears from her.  She couldn’t thank us enough and gave hugs before leaving.  This simple gesture made her day a little brighter.

Burger Ladies

Every Sunday there are two ladies that come in for burgers.  They get them in a specific way every time.  The ladies looked like they were in need of some cheer tonight so I bought them dinner. They were very thankful.

Gone But Not Forgotten!

On Saturday night Jack was in for dinner – like he often was on Saturday nights with his wife.  However this time he was alone.  His wife Kathleen had passed away a couple of weeks ago and this was the first time he had come out to T-BONES to have his “greens” (Broccoli and Asparagus).  I visited with him for a few and took care of his meal!  Kathleen and Jack will always be part of the T-BONES family.  Jack was overcome with emotions and promised to come in every week – just to keep up with his “greens”. We will miss her greatly.

Canada Eh?

I searched for a random party today to RAK. The couple I chose was all the way from Canada!  The woman told me about how much she loves coming to T-BONES and makes sure she and her husband come in everyday when they are visiting.

Bad News

We have a regular that comes in every Tuesday for his veteran’s discount. He sits alone every time, but is very friendly with the hostess and his server. He told us that his wife had died a couple months back and he has just found out that he had blood clots in his lungs. He said he doesn’t get to see his family much but they invited him over for the holidays. When I told him I was taking care of his lunch, he couldn’t have been happier.

63 Years and Still Going Strong!

Today we had Doris and Jay in for lunch celebrating 63 years of marriage!  I learned that they lived in Lawrence MA until 1993 before moving to Hudson and building a new home.  They were very nice and were happy to hear that I had taken care of their tab.  Jay is quite the ladies man – couldn’t stop talking about finding some ladies, all the while Doris hitting him on his leg. It reminded me of my parents. They look forward to finding someone at random to Pay It Forward to.

Nice Surprise!

Today I picked a couple whom I had never met before, Brian and Michelle.  In speaking with Fran I found out they are somewhat regulars and haven’t been in as much as they had been in the past.  I went over, introduced myself, and informed them I’d be taking care of the dinners.  They were both very surprised and it brought tears to Michelle’s eyes.  Such a nice couple who I will be sure to say hello the next time I see them.

Tips 4 Toys RAK’n!

While shopping at Toys “R” Us on Monday I brought along a stack of RAK’s to randomly hand out.  I gave each employee one to give to someone shopping in the store.  It was great to see them going up to random people and giving them a little piece of holiday cheer (on a messy, snowy day no less!).  We even recognized the staff who helped ring up the almost $20K in toys!   Merry Christmas all!

Pit Stop – Before Heading HOME!

Today I was happy to see a long time friend (25 years) out for lunch today – Derek and his wife Heather.  Derek was released from rehab today after having a second stroke (both before the age of 40).  The food hasn’t been great at rehab so he wanted his first meal out to be T-BONES.  It was great to sit with the two of them and go over old times when we did theater together.  You’d swear we were brothers back then!   He and his wife were thrilled to hear that I was taking care of their tab and can’t wait to come back again and Pay it Forward to someone else!  Keep on getting better D!

Paying it Forward and Forward Again

A man came in and was asking how he could order some food to go for some friends that are going through a tough time. One of his friends has cancer, and the husband was too old to keep up with everything. The man thought it would be great if they had a “home cooked” meal from T-Bones. I told him I was taking care of the food and I thanked him for being so thoughtful for thinking of his friends. He shook my hand ,thanked me, and told me I made his day.
