This is Eric. He is a regular guest who has had a huge impact on one of our employees. We decided to pay it forward to him and buy his lunch. Our employees have nothing but good things to say about Eric!

We love to Pay it Forward here at T-BONES, Cactus Jacks, and Copper Door and Random Acts of Kindness have always been part of our company's culture. In 2015 we decided to bring our love of these random acts up another notch…and have been surprising guests with free desserts, free appetizers, free meals and other cool surprises at all our locations almost daily! It does not stop there; each recipient is then given a $25 Pay It Forward dining certificate to present to a random person to keep the momentum going. We love doing this so much that we’ve dedicated an entire website to the stories and memories we’ve created and are creating everyday…Enjoy!

This afternoon at CJ’s, we had a family in after a memorial service to remember their mother/grandmother that passed a couple months ago. I knew they were coming in and what it was for so I got a small plant and a card for them along with setting them up with a bunch of apps. They were more than thrilled by our gesture and are very excited to promote us and pay it forward.

My RAK for tonight was for Kendall Parker. Ken has become quite the regular since last fall. Ken and his wife Dottie used to come in together every once in a while, but since she passed away in October, Ken comes in a few times a week. They were engaged after dating for 2 weeks, married 2 years later, and had 64 amazing years together. Ken celebrated his 91st birthday in April and despite the loss of his wife, is still going strong. I met Ken in October during a table visit, and I always try and sit with him for a while, I love talking with him. Ken is also a veteran of WWII, he was a radio operator in the south pacific. When I explained about staff matters and putting his picture up and a little explanation of who he was, he insisted that I tell everyone that he thinks I’m charming. 🙂 I love this promotion! Our guests are so happy!

Today’s Hudson RAK went to Henry & Judy! Henry called yesterday to explain how he wasn’t very computer/e-mail savvy and could not get his coupon to load. I explained that he should come visit us and that I would help check out his e-mail and if it didn’t work out, I would hook him up. He came in this afternoon with his wife, Judy, and I decided to take it one step further and buy their meals. They were so, so grateful! And they can’t wait to pay it forward to someone else! Looks like I have found myself some new regulars as they said they will always ask for me so they can say hello! 🙂

Our Random Act of Kindness was to one of our favorite guests…….Stanley. Rumor has it that Stanley has been coming here forever. If you don’t know Stanley, he is one of the kindest, most gentle, good natured, polite, and loyal guests that we have. He comes in every day and starts at the host stand telling the hosts how beautiful they are….. He was literally almost speechless and looked as though he were going to cry! He did not want us to take care of his meal, but was more than happy to pay it forward. We took care of it anyways 🙂

Tonight we had two very nice teachers from Union Sunburn elementary school in Northfield, Carmel and Jan, who joined us after work. Jan is retiring next month after working there for 30 years. I took their tab as a retirement present, and a thanks for visiting from the Tilton area, and told them to share their RAK certificate with another hard-working teacher at their school on Monday.

Today at the Copper Door we selected Linda and her son and daughter-in-law. Not able to get together for Mother’s Day, they joined us for lunch. Their server, Marissa, brought to my attention how much Linda loved our restaurant and especially the Tea Forte, as she cannot have sweetened iced tea. She thought it was great that we had different flavors, and tried a new one today. Linda raved about Tea Forte all through lunch, so we gave her a top and bottom set with a 12 pack sample of the iced teas we have available. There is no doubt in our minds that $25 certificate will be given out tomorrow!

Today’s RAK went to 3 lovely folks that ended up sitting next to a party of 25 Hockey boys (we all know how boys are, LOL) I bought lunch and explained the promotion, they were super touched and impressed that our company is taking the time to honor the little things in life and love to see people Paying it Forward.
