Lending a Helping Hand

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

We had an Early RAK today! It was something as simple as a nice guy getting up from his booth to help a little boy find his lost lego that fell between the cushions. We bought his lunch, and he and his wife, while camera shy, were extremely grateful. – Mike Columbare

Over the Moon

Salem’s RAK tonight was a young man that was so excited to spin the Wheel for “Healing for Hollie” … His family just lost someone to cancer and he was over the moon to help someone else and he won a $25 coupon to boot!!!  He can’t wait to pay it forward! – Rheanna Cook

Sharing is Caring

Today’s RAK at CJ’s began with Gavan sharing his new stickers with me and Caitlin. This was an easy decision to pay it forward by buying his lunch and explaining that his kindness and generosity didn’t go unnoticed. He decided to pay it forward to a woman that helped him out in the restroom and she was completely blown away. 2 for the price of 1… – Josh Bruno

From Unhappy Family to Very Happy

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

We chose this family for our Random Act of Kindness.  The younger portion of the family were somewhat bickering for the first part of the lunch which frustrated the mom, and then, of course the grandparents.  When I explained to them that I had taken food off of their bill, and the reason why, every single person at the table was smiling and impressed by the whole thing.  Each and every one of them made a point to thank me again prior to them leaving.  It was very nice to see the transition from an unhappy family to a very happy, and impressed one! – Tricia St. George

The Most Generous Woman Around

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Our RAK this morning is a wonderful woman, Helen, who constantly is donating to our charities without wanting spins or coupons in return, and who has adamantly refused to ever had anything bought for her, no matter what the reason. She only allowed me to buy her lunch because she would get to make someone else’s day brighter. After she asked the check amount and donated it to Healing for Hollie. – Mike Columbare

Moving from the Midwest

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today’s RAK involves a couple, Carol and Chuck, who first visited us about a month ago when they moved here from the Midwest. Their moving van ran into some difficulties getting here and they visited us almost every day for a week and then have been here between 2-3 times a week since. Monday, they are leaving to attend the wedding of Carol’s nephew and to visit Chuck’s 94-year old mother. After that, they are heading to Napa! I picked up their lunch, especially since they were enjoying our new pink lemonade cupcake. – Matthew Phipps

You’ve Got to be Kidding!

Tonight’s RAK was for a super friendly, appreciative, & outgoing family of 3! These folks were so excited to be out to dinner. I watched from the host stand as they laughed, chatted, & gave each other thumbs up while thoroughly enjoying their meals! I asked their waitress, Bonnie, if she thought they were deserving and she couldn’t say enough nice things about them. I brought their check over and told them that their meals were on us and the husband proceeded to say, ‘you’ve got to be kidding!’ with so much excitement. They told me that they were also given free coffees at Dunkin Donuts the other day and they love random acts of kindness and being able to pay it forward and make someone else’s day! 🙂 – Meaghan Corriveau

The Man in Uniform

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Tonight was great.  I had about 5 servers point out to me this table because the man was in full uniform.  Turns out it was their first night out without the kids in quite some time.  They were so very thankful and were so eager to Pay It Forward that he went into the dining room, found a family of 4 with two you kids and gave it to them.  It was really cool to see him taking the time to explain to the family what it was all about.  I’m so bummed I didn’t have my phone on me at the time! – Amy Czyzewski

Night Out Before the Wedding

Laconia’s RAK recipients tonight were the first guests of May to use our valet service.  The Farley family traveled up from Boston to attend their nephew’s wedding tomorrow.  We gave them 4 free entrees, and they’re going to pass on their certificate and their story tomorrow as they celebrate! – Jay Bolduc
