Having a Hard Day

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today’s RAK went to Danielle. Her family came in for lunch, and you could just tell she was having a hard day with two very young children, and an elderly father whom was being difficult. I approached her as she was about to leave, handed her a gift card, and told her to come back when she can to try to have a better/quieter day than she was having. She was extremely happy and cannot wait to Pay it Forward. – Mike Columbare

Today I had a 5th grade graduate and his Mom in for lunch. He was dressed to impress so I hooked them up with Fisher Cats tickets for Saturday’s game and they were psyched… He can’t wait to Pay it Forward and go to the game! – Josh Bruno

The Doorman

My RAK was easy today.  We had an elderly couple leaving the restaurant.  The woman was having difficulty trying to navigate her walker through the door that her husband was holding open.  I went up and held the other door to make it easier for her.  At the same time, a man in his early-mid twenties was walking in, and stopped when he saw the woman and turned to hold the outside door open for her.  If that wasn’t enough, at least ten more people were coming in at the same time.  He held the door for each and every one of them making a sweet comment every time.  “Nice day today”, “Isn’t this place great”, and so on and so forth.  He pretty much made my decision for me.  When I approached him to tell him that we were buying his lunch, he stopped me to tell me how much he was enjoying one of our specials and that it had perhaps become his new favorite.  To say that he was surprised was an understatement. – Tricia St. George

Thank You, Thank You

Tonight’s RAK at CJ’s went to the last table sitting in the DR. I had been stuck on expo anytime I wasn’t making rounds in the restaurant and just hadn’t had time. I’m glad it went to these two ladies because of how thankful they were that I was buying their dinners and how awesome they thought the promo was. I’m sure they’ll find someone great to Pay It Forward to! – Amy Czyzewski

Walkie Hockey

Today’s CJ’s RAK went to a gentleman sitting alone at the bar.  Josh and I were both on, and we both had walked by and commented how cool his walking stick was.  We decided for that simple reason to take care of his food and ask him to Pay It Forward.  He was more than eager to pose for a picture with this awesome stick and happy to Pay It Forward.  It wasn’t until after the picture was taken that we noticed the Montreal… Started to rethink it then… ;-P – Amy Czyzewski

Dessert Time!

I RAK’d an older couple who I overheard talking about how they never get dessert because they either don’t have the time, money, or are too full. I walked over with the dessert menus and bought them their choice of tasty treat. They were very excited, mostly by chocolate, but also to Pay it Forward. – Mike Columbare

Impressed by the Generosity

These are our RAKs for yesterday and today.  Yesterday I was training a new manager, so both of us went over to a table who were celebrating their anniversary.  They were so surprised and so happy.  They were with their daughter who was so impressed by our generous nature and to continue the generosity is so above and beyond.  Today I chose a patio family.  They were very impressed and although they had heard of it before they had never participated in it and are looking forward to Paying it Forward. – Missy Grondin

A Great Sendoff

Tonight’s RAK was one of the most emotional to date.  There was a young family in for dinner.  Our hostess Claudette asked if we could buy the Dad dinner as he is being deployed to the Middle East in the morning.  We did one better.  We bought dinner for the family.  His wife stood up and hugged me immediately with tears in her eyes.  They were trying to keep the dinner upbeat for the teenage daughters, so this helped out a bit I think.  Before they left, they told me that they were going to Pay it Forward to their neighbor who has been living in a hotel for the past several weeks after losing their home to a house fire.  They were one of the nicest families I have ever met.  He told us that he would be back for dinner when he gets home and to have a T-BONES waiting for him….. – Tricia St. George
