Tonight we had a couple that had just come in from voting in today’s elections. They commented to their server that they waited over an hour to vote. I was able to deliver the food – and surprised them by picking up their tab. They were both thrilled. Thanked me and look forward to PIF in the next few days.
Two Kevins
Tonight I had the opportunity to seat a father and son for dinner, each with a set of physical challenges. They both ordered the same appetizer, and then both ordered the same entree. A hunch told me that this table would be a good RAK, so that’s what I did. When I bought their dinner and told them of our promotion, that’s when I found out they both are named Kevin. On the way out, dad stopped at the host stand to say that my act came at a very opportune time for many reasons, that he couldn’t thank me enough, and how much he was touched by the gesture. How awesome to make someone’s day!
RAK story
A nice lady came in this afternoon for lunch. She explained that typically she would just have a salad for lunch, but her boyfriend had just broken up with her so today she decided to spoil herself and try some steak tips. I decided I would try and brighten up her day a little bit and take care of her tab. She was grateful, and I was even able to get a smile out of her.
21st on CJ’s 21st
Tonight Cactus Jack’s turned 21 years old… Yup, February 6th, 1995. We also had someone in celebrating their 21st birthday tonight. When I explained to his table that CJ’s was 21 today too they thought it was the coolest. I bought his dinner and gave him a $21 GC (for drinks only!). His parents were floored and he was pumped for free drinks! When I asked him to PIF, he couldn’t wait to tell someone what CJ’s did for him!
My Favorite Girl
There is a young girl in a wheelchair who is severely handicapped, but her parents bring her in regularly. Whenever she sees me she gets so excited, moving and smiling, that I feel like a movie star! Her parents are very nice and I always make time to chat with them.
Crazy Kids!
My RAK this evening went to a very nice couple that were sat next to a very rambunctious table of young girls. I stopped by to see how their meals were, etc. They were very nice and explained how luckily they were parents, and now grandparents, so the rowdy group didn’t bother their meal a bit. Since they were so sweet, I hooked them up with a gift certificate for next time they head on over for a nice, quiet dinner for two 🙂 They were very excited to be able to pay it forward!
Losing 13 Teeth & Wanting T-BONES
My RAK tonight went to a gentleman who had actually just lost 13 teeth a few days prior to his visit tonight. His girlfriend was very upfront with Erika (their server) about what had happened to him. Looking at him you would never have known that he had just had 13 teeth pulled, but since there was a chance he may not eat all of his dinner, she wanted Erika to know ahead of time to save the questioning of whether he liked his meal or not. Erika proceeded to find out that he was ordering Chili because all he had been craving was meat. In fact, all that he had eaten in the past few days was Chili from our restaurant. I hooked him up with a gift certificate for when he can finally enjoy a nice steak here at T-BONES Hudson. They were entirely grateful, and could not wait to Pay It Forward!
Takeaway Takeout
Tonight I had a gentleman call in a takeout and he was just so nice and polite and from that point on I decided he would be the right choice for my Random Act of Kindness!!! Upon arrival he showed up with his adorable little girl and was just floored that he was chosen for this. I paid for his two sandwiches and asked that he Pays it Forward to someone they think deserves the random act of kindness!
T-BONE’s Tuesday
Tonight I bought dessert for a family that comes in every Tuesday. They started coming in every week when the military discount started and they call it T-BONE’s Tuesday. They said I made it a special Tuesday and can’t wait to pay it forward.
Manchester Tooth Fairy
Tonight, a little boy came in who had just lost his first tooth. He was so excited and telling everyone about it. When his parents gave him the choice of where he wanted to go to celebrate, he chose CJ’s for our Make Your Own Sundae. I went over and asked him all about how he lost his tooth, and bought him and his little brother dessert. I also gave the parents a gift card since *spoiler alert* they’re the ones who shell out for the tooth fairy. The whole family was very excited and happy to Pay It Forward.
