Tonight a gentleman came in who I know is very active in Scouting. He does a lot of volunteer work and has helped many Scouts attain their Eagle rank, which is not an easy thing. I decided to take care of his dinner tonight. When I told him of the RAK and the Pay It Forward part of the act, he was very excited for the opportunity to give the certificate away.
First Timer
One of our servers came over and told me we had a first timer here at T-BONES! I went over to his table and sat with him as I handed him a RAK. He said he would be coming back and was excited to go out and find someone to Pay It Forward to!
Rewarding a RAK with a RAK
For lunch on Sunday, two gentlemen randomly took care of the tab belonging to the table next to them. I felt that this good deed should be rewarded, so I hooked them up with a RAK certificate!
Lost Payback$
One of our guests dining in today left their Payback$ card. They called and spoke to the hostess and asked that we mail it back to them because they were worried that they wouldn’t get here soon enough & it may go missing. I thought it would be a nice surprise to include a gift certificate along with a note explaining how we perform random acts of kindness & that they also get to Pay it Forward. Hopefully they’ll enjoy their surprise & come in for lunch again soon!
Three’s Company
We had a fun group sitting with us at the bar. They kept the staff and guests entertained. They just seemed like they would really enjoy a PIF certificate and I was right… they are on a mission for the best PIF they can find!
Hard Finding the Time to Eat Out
I was browsing around the Dining room and noticed an older couple eating lunch. I thought WOW spending money on going out can be tough sometimes. I decided to give them a $25 Gift Certificate for the next visit and the Pay It Forward Certificate to give to someone else.
Hope for Next Generation
Walking around the dining room tonight, a young girl darted in front of me. I looked to see what the rush was for and realized she was retrieving a cane for an elderly guest who had just dropped it upon standing up from her table. The young girl had sprung up to assist the woman the second she saw the cane fall. Upon talking to both parties and visiting for a little while, I came to find out that they were complete strangers and this was an act of kindness all on its own. I asked the young girl if she had ever tried any of our desserts and set a dessert menu in front of her. I told her to pick one out and I would personally take care of it for her. The rest of the table loved it. I presented them with the pay it forward gift card and instructed them to do just what they had already done for the nice lady with the cane to someone else.
Laconia RAK
Had a group of people in tonight at Cactus Jacks having some drinks and enjoying some appetizers. The pulled me aside to tell me how great the buffalo chicken dip was. They had eaten it other places and always had it with shredded chicken but ours was better. I really appreciated the feedback and decided to take care of their apps for them. They were beyond grateful and excited to perform their very own random act of kindness.
70 Years Strong!
Today we had a lovely couple who were dropped off to have lunch together. They were celebrating birthdays that are a week apart. They both turned 88 this year and have been married for 70 years. They sat me down and explained to me how they’ve lived a wonderful life and as hard as life can be, its worth it. They were amazing to talk to with such good spirits! They were so appreciative of the free meal and couldn’t wait to pay it foreword to the family that they lived next to who were not as fortunate as they have been in life. Its moments like this were I have a strong appreciation for the company I work for and what you give back!
Oh Camille
Tonight some regulars came in, they called ahead like the normally do whether if it is a busy night or not, they love that we know their name right when they walk in. The wife’s name is Camille, which is also the name of my car. As I walked her to her table I told her it was the name of my car and the story behind the name. She though it was amusing. I told her that I was taking care of her and her husband’s dinner she said she was having the best week ever.
