My RAK today went to a little boy who was very disappointed his burger did no come with bacon. When Katie went back to get him a piece, he was overheard shouting ‘Bacon is better than cookies!”. This was beyond RAK worthy. I went over and bought his family dinner. They were really happy, Mom jumped up to hug me, and they can’t wait to pay it forward!
Step Above Military Discount
My RAK for this week went to a young lady in uniform who came in for takeout. As her food was delivered, I told her that we were thankful for her service and ordinarily she would receive the Military Discount, but tonight I was picking up dinner plus giving her a GC. She was excited about the GC, as she wants to take out 3 of her friends who will be deployed on January 4th. Further, she was excited about the opportunity of the Pay It Forward certificate.
“We don’t have to pay ANYTHING?”
Last week an older couple came in, very polite, easy going, cheerful people. They told me they were both retired and just enjoying life! I picked up their tab and they were in disbelief…”We don’t have to pay ANYTHING?”
Upstanding Young Man
My RAK for the week went to a young man named Kyle. I overheard him talking about his day at school Friday and how one of his friends didn’t bring a lunch and had no money to get anything. Kyle described how he bought a lunch sampler because he knew it had enough food to share with his friend, and that’s what he did. What a great act on his part, so I took care of Kyle’s dinner and gave him a gift certificate to come back. He was very excited about getting the GC!
Captain America
My RAK went to ..wait for it .. Steve Rodgers! (Captain America ) how could I not by him dinner?
One Hundred Scenarios
My first RAK in Salem went to 2 ladies, Dianne and Nancy, who came in for lunch. Nancy has been in and out of the hospital for the past couple of months, and unable to come visit us. She’s better now, and when Dianne asked her where she would like to go for lunch to celebrate, her answer was T-BONES. So I hooked them up by picking up the tab and gave them a gift certificate for their next trip up. When I gave them the Pay It Forward certificate, it was so funny to listen to as Nancy went over about a hundred scenarios on whom to give it to.
Parent’s Night Out
My RAK today consisted of a very busy husband and wife who finally got to spend some alone time together away from the kids. They decided to come here for lunch. I took care of their tab and they were thrilled and happy to PIF (Pay It Forward).
