Daughter’s Special Night

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

This little girl was the recipient of tonight’s RAK.  She was so polite, sweet, and proud of her soccer achievements at her game prior to visiting us today.  I went over and explained the whole “deal” to her and her Mom. The Mom asked some of the other reasons that I had given them away.  I briefly explained the story about the family with the little girl that had to have a tracheotomy among other stories that I have read here.  She asked what the prognosis for the little girl was and when I explained that she would most likely never have the ability to speak, she told me about another one of her daughters that has partial cranial paralysis that has left her child also without the ability to speak, however her prognosis is much better.  In fact, she will be starring in a Children’s Hospital of Boston commercial this coming Friday.  She had taken her daughter to the game alone to make sure that she knew how special she is and to make it a special night for her.  She had chosen our restaurant to come to eat.  They could not have been any more grateful.  These stories are tugging at my heart-strings and I love that we have the ability to do something so profound for our incredible guests with even more incredible stories!

Long Time Regular

Salem’s RAK Was Dan …. He has been a long time regular and always super sweet to us.  Saturday night while Dan was leaving he saw that I needed a little help with another guest that was in need of medical attention.  My head set was not working and he came over to lend me a hand grabbing some things I needed from inside and also brought a blanket from his car for the young girl that was out with her aunt.  Dan Can’t wait to pay it forward tomorrow!

Making a Great Experience Even Better

Today I gave away two RAK’s being a double.  The first went to a family of 4 who were sitting in the dining room having lunch.  The mom kept raving about her haddock tacos and what a great experience she was having.  Their server wanted to make it even better, so we took care of her meal.  The second was a quiet, regular couple who come in to the bar every week.  No one had crazy stories for the day, so I thought I’d just to a completely random act and picked their table.  Both parties loved the idea of Pay It Forward and couldn’t wait to give away their certificates!

Laconia’s RAK tonight went to a party of 3 down at Cactus Jacks. They had only been here a couple of times previous and love our food and staff. I picked up there appetizers and explained the pay it forward promo. They were super excited and cannot wait to give the same feeling they had tonight to some random person.

Welcome, New Neighbor

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

We found out that a couple with 2 little kids just moved to Bedford on Wednesday and LOVED our restaurant.  We chatted it up for a while about what a great area this is to live and then I pulled out the GC/card and explained I was picking up their check as a welcome to town.  We decided the GC was a great way to open an introduction with a random new neighbor!  Nice ice breaker 🙂

Sunday Stories

Louie Prince was the lucky winner of Hudson’s RAK this afternoon! As you can see from the picture, our staff absolutely love him & we all look forward to sitting down and chatting it up with him every Sunday. He has a ton of war stories, life stories… he is a straight out story teller and we love it! He was very grateful to have been chosen and says he will tell us all about who he gave his pay it forward certificate to next Sunday! 🙂

Lending a Helping Hand

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

We had an Early RAK today! It was something as simple as a nice guy getting up from his booth to help a little boy find his lost lego that fell between the cushions. We bought his lunch, and he and his wife, while camera shy, were extremely grateful.

Salem’s RAK tonight was a young man that was so excited to spin the Wheel for “Healing for Hollie” … His family just lost someone to cancer and he was over the moon to help someone else and he won a $25 coupon to boot!!!  He can’t wait to pay it forward!

Sharing is Caring

Today’s RAK at CJ’s began with Gavan sharing his new stickers with me and Caitlin. This was an easy decision to pay it forward by buying his lunch and explaining that his kindness and generosity didn’t go unnoticed. He decided to pay it forward to a woman that helped him out in the restroom and she was completely blown away. 2 for the price of 1…
