Nice Surprise!

Today I picked a couple whom I had never met before, Brian and Michelle.  In speaking with Fran I found out they are somewhat regulars and haven’t been in as much as they had been in the past.  I went over, introduced myself, and informed them I’d be taking care of the dinners.  They were both very surprised and it brought tears to Michelle’s eyes.  Such a nice couple who I will be sure to say hello the next time I see them.

Tips 4 Toys RAK’n!

While shopping at Toys “R” Us on Monday I brought along a stack of RAK’s to randomly hand out.  I gave each employee one to give to someone shopping in the store.  It was great to see them going up to random people and giving them a little piece of holiday cheer (on a messy, snowy day no less!).  We even recognized the staff who helped ring up the almost $20K in toys!   Merry Christmas all!

Pit Stop – Before Heading HOME!

Today I was happy to see a long time friend (25 years) out for lunch today – Derek and his wife Heather.  Derek was released from rehab today after having a second stroke (both before the age of 40).  The food hasn’t been great at rehab so he wanted his first meal out to be T-BONES.  It was great to sit with the two of them and go over old times when we did theater together.  You’d swear we were brothers back then!   He and his wife were thrilled to hear that I was taking care of their tab and can’t wait to come back again and Pay it Forward to someone else!  Keep on getting better D!

Had a party of 8 come in with (4) kids who had run in a race today.  The Presentation of Mary squad won the “team” event and these four came out to celebrate.  Took care of the appetizers and gave each of the (4) a Pay It Forward Certificate to hand out.  The parents were very happy and the kids were too!

Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Tonight I stopped by a table with a dad Gary, and his little daughter Ava.  They had just completed dinner and was going to clear their dishes.  Ava stated that she wanted a cookie (she got the KLW Salmon).  So I said I’ll get you one – before I could leave the table she showed me that she lost her tooth just a couple of days before.  We chatted and she said the tooth fairy left her $4.  I left and knew I was going to RAK them.  I brought over the cookie along with a tiny “fib”.  I let her know that the tooth fairy had actually called us and said to surprise her some more.  I told her we were taking care of their dinner and handed her the $25 RAK certificate.  Her jaw dropped!  She was very excited and left the restaurant thanking the tooth fairy out in the open.  Really cute girl…they’ll be back!

Police Protection

Today we had some police officers from Manchester dining with us, Steve and Stephanie.  They along with many other departments around the state were in Hudson for officer training.  They took time to dine with us for lunch.  I chatted with them a bit and explained what we do and thanked them for their service.  I picked up their tab and gave each of them a Pay It Forward certificate.  They were really blown away by our gesture.

Missing Miss Dolly

Dolly and Judy, mom and daughter, were quite the regulars here at Hudson T-BONES.  Lately only Judy has been coming in – still somewhat frequent – but without her mom.  Come to find out her mom is now under hospice home care at Fairview Nursing Home down the road from here.  Looks like she will be there for a while.  I picked up the tab for Judy and her friends along with a gift certificate for Dolly.  That way she can have a meal and appetizer (Potato Skins – no bacon) on us!   Judy was overcome with tears and jumped up to give hugs to myself and our T-BONES ambassador Claudette.

Today I chose a random table my RAK.  Bob and Lou Ellen were the guests – Their last name sounded familiar so I asked if they were related to Bob, who was from Nashua and shared the same last name.  He ended up being their son! Their son was a good friend to me in high school!  We had a great chat and reminisced about our HS days!  I bought their meal and they look forward to coming back as well as Paying it Forward!

Long Lost Friends!

Today we (Julie and I) chose a random table for our RAK.  Just two couples out having lunch together!   Come to find out the gentlemen (Al and Chuck) grew up together and had known each other for over 50 years.  They grew up in Malden MA and have since married (Doreen/Mary Ann) and have both moved to Florida.  It was really fun learning about them and they were all ecstatic over being chosen as our RAK.  We took care of their appetizer and gave each couple a $25 gift certificate to return.  Al is an avid Facebook fan of ours and plans on announcing his pleasure with what we did.   Great table!

Lots of Love for Locks of Love!

April and Todd are very regular guests here at Hudson T-BONES.  We are even friends on Facebook!  Today I noticed via Facebook that April had cut her hair and donated (4) separate locks of hair to Locks of Love.  When I saw them at the bar tonight I had to do something nice for her!  I was going to take care of their meals but quickly found out they had already eaten and were just in for some cocktails and good cheer!  Instead I gave them a $50 gift certificate for a return visit and the Pay It Forward.  They were thrilled!  Even posting it and tagging me at the same time.  I know they will find the right person to give it to!
