Holding Hands with Mom

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today’s RAK went to Bob and Claire Meade, they are mother and son. The reason why I chose them is because when they were walking in front of the building I saw Bob holding his mothers hand and then when they came inside the two of them were so polite and sweet they were the obvious choice. It was nice to see Bob taking care of his mother and I did buy them lunch.

Random Table, Random Time

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today in Derry, I just picked a random table at a random time. I had a father and his two young sons (young compared to me, as they were both old enough to drink). Scott was with his sons Cameron and Brandon. I picked Brandon to pay it forward. I explained the promotion, and they couldn’t believe their good fortune. I picked their food tab. Brandon was very happy to pay it forward.

Hummus and Grape Nut Pudding

Today’s Hudson RAK went to a couple of our regulars, Bob & Denise. These two are very quiet but always very friendly and kind. They love our hummus & grape nut pudding and often pull me & our other managers aside to ask us to prepare/order it for them for their future visit. Today we had both items for them and I figured I would take it a step further and take care of their lunch! They were very happy and love that they were chosen to pay it forward.

Happiness is Contagious

Today’s RAK went to a cop and his wife who are regulars here. They come in always so happy and very nice to all of our employees. Never seem to complain about anything. I told them I was buying their dinners and they were beyond impressed and thought what we were doing was the greatest thing.

So Happy She Cried

RAK in Salem tonight went to Marla. She came in to place a takeout order, and when she went to pay, realized she had forgotten her purse at home. I explained what we have been doing, bought her meal, and handed her the Pay it Forward certificate (She was so happy she cried, it was funny) She was wicked excited she didn’t have to go back to Lawrence, and was even more excited to keep paying it forward. No pictures allowed due to the tears.

We’re Not in Kansas Anymore, Toto

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

CoDo morning RAK for today went to Pam, Linda, and Janet. Linda is Pam’s mom, and after some morning appointments, they came to join us for lunch. They asked Janet to come visit, as they hadn’t seen each other for a while. What made me select them is that during their conversation, Pam said “We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto”, which to me was about as random a saying as somebody could say during lunch. Especially the Toto part! I picked up their lunch check and gave Pam the certificate to pay forward. Totally made their day, and she even emailed me to say how much it meant to them and how much she’s looking forward to paying it forward.

Dick & Dot

Today’s Hudson RAK went to Dick & Dot who are very frequent bar customers. They come in twice a week and it’s always nice to see them! They couldn’t believe we picked up their lunch! They thought it was such a nice treat. I explained the part they will need to play in the next 24 hours and they were so excited to pay it forward to someone else 🙂

Stressed Out and Overwhelmed

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Extra good one for me today!  My last couple were just randoms.  Today I started a conversation with 2 ladies-it turns out they were here to celebrate Lisa’s birthday but she was stressed out and overwhelmed,  She’s getting married in 6 weeks, her wedding gown seamstress bailed and also found out her mother has stage 4 cancer.  I’m trying to get in touch with Claudette in Hudson for her to see if she can help with the last minute alterations and I have Lisa’s number so I can call her and let her know.  I picked up their check too. It feels so good to do stuff like this!

While the Children are Away

Stacie and Tom were here for a quiet lunch while their children are in school. I have never seen them by themselves. They usually do takeout with us or come with a big group in the Great Room.
