Summer is Here Again!

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today’s RAK at CJ’s went to a couple that frequent our Cantina in the Summer and this was their 1st visit of the year. Bill is in a wheelchair and it’s tough for them to get out and about when the weather doesn’t cooperate. When I explained that I wanted them to be my recipient of a random act of kindness, they were floored. They were almost as excited to pay it forward to someone tomorrow.

The Tie-Dye Guys

Hudson’s RAK tonight went to two laid back guys wearing matching tie dye shirts. They came out to grab some yummy burgers and a couple margaritas and were definitely not expecting to receive their meals on us. It was such a beautiful day today so I wanted to choose someone based on their summer attire- something fun and hopefully different. These two were perfect, especially since they were matching. They were very surprised that I took care of their burgers – and loved that they get to pay the favor to someone else tomorrow!

Salem RAK today was a young man named Richard celebrating his 75th Birthday ….He is a bit of a jokester and had all of us laughing.  He was super surprised and grateful, I bought all 3 meals and he is excited to pay it forward.  On his way out he saw the wheel for Hollie and want to pay t forward even more, he made $100 donation (without a spin).  Richard has such a kind heart, I’m glad he was our RAK!

Todays RAK went to Matt, Stephanie and their two kids. Matt is a Salem Police Officer who spends a lot of time in our elementary schools teaching the kids about Stranger Danger, Bicycle Safety and just safety in general. They were so excited and Stephanie can’t wait to Pay it Forward. I did pick up their lunch tab.

One of my servers heard this guest talking about how he had volunteered through his lifetime and felt it would be a great RAK! They were shocked and appreciative! By the way…I’m loving this!

Daughter’s Special Night

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

This little girl was the recipient of tonight’s RAK.  She was so polite, sweet, and proud of her soccer achievements at her game prior to visiting us today.  I went over and explained the whole “deal” to her and her Mom. The Mom asked some of the other reasons that I had given them away.  I briefly explained the story about the family with the little girl that had to have a tracheotomy among other stories that I have read here.  She asked what the prognosis for the little girl was and when I explained that she would most likely never have the ability to speak, she told me about another one of her daughters that has partial cranial paralysis that has left her child also without the ability to speak, however her prognosis is much better.  In fact, she will be starring in a Children’s Hospital of Boston commercial this coming Friday.  She had taken her daughter to the game alone to make sure that she knew how special she is and to make it a special night for her.  She had chosen our restaurant to come to eat.  They could not have been any more grateful.  These stories are tugging at my heart-strings and I love that we have the ability to do something so profound for our incredible guests with even more incredible stories!

Long Time Regular

Salem’s RAK Was Dan …. He has been a long time regular and always super sweet to us.  Saturday night while Dan was leaving he saw that I needed a little help with another guest that was in need of medical attention.  My head set was not working and he came over to lend me a hand grabbing some things I needed from inside and also brought a blanket from his car for the young girl that was out with her aunt.  Dan Can’t wait to pay it forward tomorrow!

Making a Great Experience Even Better

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today I gave away two RAK’s being a double.  The first went to a family of 4 who were sitting in the dining room having lunch.  The mom kept raving about her haddock tacos and what a great experience she was having.  Their server wanted to make it even better, so we took care of her meal.  The second was a quiet, regular couple who come in to the bar every week.  No one had crazy stories for the day, so I thought I’d just to a completely random act and picked their table.  Both parties loved the idea of Pay It Forward and couldn’t wait to give away their certificates!

Laconia’s RAK tonight went to a party of 3 down at Cactus Jacks. They had only been here a couple of times previous and love our food and staff. I picked up there appetizers and explained the pay it forward promo. They were super excited and cannot wait to give the same feeling they had tonight to some random person.

Welcome, New Neighbor

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

We found out that a couple with 2 little kids just moved to Bedford on Wednesday and LOVED our restaurant.  We chatted it up for a while about what a great area this is to live and then I pulled out the GC/card and explained I was picking up their check as a welcome to town.  We decided the GC was a great way to open an introduction with a random new neighbor!  Nice ice breaker 🙂
