Happy Cinco de Margarito!

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

The woman on the right next to our cocktail server was our recipient of a Random Act of Kindness today.  We decided that it would be the first person to order a margarita (Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!)  I explained that we had taken off her and her friends lunch today as our random act of kindness and went over the Pay It Forward portion.  Poor woman started to cry!  Apparently, her husband has passed away in the past year and her friend took her here for lunch to help her celebrate her husbands birthday (today)  I don’t know that I could possibly explain how moved she was by the whole thing.  She was touched, impressed, and already discussing ideas on how she would give her Pay It Forward certificate away!

Never Before Midnight

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Tonight, Josh & I talked and we decided that we wanted the RAK to go to our midnight regulars Marty & Patty. Marty & Patty are originally from New Jersey (as he is sure to remind you multiple times per visit) and started coming to CJ’s when they were visiting family here about 2 years ago.  Recently they have made NH their home and they come by to visit us between 4-6 times a week but never before midnight.  Marty always tries the soup of the day and loves the variety we serve.  We as a management team look forward to reading the comments that he leaves for us at the meeting as they are almost always accompanied by some sort of joke or anecdote.  Tonight we picked up their whole tab as a thank you for being such wonderful guests.  Marty was definitely grateful and can not wait to pay it forward tomorrow.  I am sure we will be hearing all about it 🙂 – Amanda Mudgett

Hello, GRANDparents!

OK – I know I already did one – but HAD to do another.  This is Rhonda and Victor – they are regulars at our bar and Rhonda just received a text that her daughter in Washington state was in labor with her first child – Rhonda’s FIRST grandchild!  She was in tears with excitement over just the text.  Then I come over to take care of their meals – and the tears flowed again!  She loves what we are doing and will be looking to pay it forward before heading out to Washington next Tuesday! – Denis Brunelle

Suffering Sox Fan

Tonight in Derry, I waited until later in the evening to do my RAK. It worked out perfectly. Around 9:30, a party of 4 came in, and one of the guys was sporting a Red Sox hat. Perfect. The Sox were losing again. Who needs a RAK more than a suffering Sox fan. I introduced myself to the table, and explained the promotion. the guests were very appreciative, and thought that the promotion was excellent. I wound up picking up 3 appetizers for the table, and giving Nate the Pay it Forward certificate. – Andre Morris

Polka Dots

RAK today.  We (our staff included) wanted to have a bit of fun with it today.  We decided we were going to Pay it Forward to the first person that came into our restaurant wearing polka dots.  Well – one just showed up!  Party of 7 women all out for a reunion and we picked up (2) appetizers for them.  The woman wearing  the polka dots is Rosamund (yup that’s how she spelled it).  She is anxious to go out in the next couple of days to do her part! – Denis Brunelle

This guest and her husband visited us today for the first time in a while. Angela asked what had brought them in today and where they had been. She started to cry and said he had lost her dad this past week and had taken a few extra days off of work and decided to come in for lunch (she is a school teacher). We bought their lunch and gave them a GC for their next visit in hopes it would brighten her day. – Lisa Schoneberger

Summer is Here Again!

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Today’s RAK at CJ’s went to a couple that frequent our Cantina in the Summer and this was their 1st visit of the year. Bill is in a wheelchair and it’s tough for them to get out and about when the weather doesn’t cooperate. When I explained that I wanted them to be my recipient of a random act of kindness, they were floored. They were almost as excited to pay it forward to someone tomorrow. – Josh Bruno

The Tie-Dye Guys

GNHR RAK Leave a Comment

Hudson’s RAK tonight went to two laid back guys wearing matching tie dye shirts. They came out to grab some yummy burgers and a couple margaritas and were definitely not expecting to receive their meals on us. It was such a beautiful day today so I wanted to choose someone based on their summer attire- something fun and hopefully different. These two were perfect, especially since they were matching. They were very surprised that I took care of their burgers – and loved that they get to pay the favor to someone else tomorrow! – Meaghan Corriveau
