The other day I was waiting on a table and I over heard them say happy anniversary to one another. They are regulars here so I thought it would be nice to get a gift card for another visit. They were very thankful and cant wait to pay it forward.
Sweet Engagement
Tonight I bought dessert for a couple sitting at the bar. They come in often and are recently engaged. Tonight they were in the mood for mudslides and dessert. They said they will think carefully about who they pay it forward to.
91st Birthday!
Mary was in to celebrate her 91st birthday with her children and their spouses. After singing happy birthday to her, and then hearing how happy she was and how much she loved our Baked Haddock; I knew she was deserving of a Random Act of Kindness. I let her and her family know that her lunch was on us and they couldn’t believe it! Mary is very excited to pay it forward and also to come back again to celebrate next year! 🙂
Fellow Graduate 1988 NHS!
Tonight I was able to visit with a good friend of mine from NHS! Hadn’t seen him in while. He was out with his family celebrating his son’s birthday. Come to find out his son has quite the interest with Gettysburg just as I do. Picked up their dinners and handed his son the PIF. They were really excited to be chosen and will be coming back soon to let me know who they chose to PIF.
Oldie but Goodie!
Janine and Agon are quite the regulars here in Hudson. They are here at least 3 times a week either just the two of them – or with another couple. I always enjoy going back and forth with them when they are here and tonight I thought I would take care of them. They were thrilled! Janine gave me the biggest hug and you could tell Agon was deeply touched. I am sure I will see them soon and look forward to hear who they PIF too!
Looks Can Be Deceiving
Since I do not live in Hudson, I did not know some guests & what their professions are. However, I was lucky enough to have Rachel working host the other afternoon and she gave me some insight on a table of young men who wouldn’t have looked more to me than a group of guys out for some lunch & drinks. Come to find out, they were very deep into helping improve our community in many ways with the careers they had chosen. Some were police officers, teachers, and some on their way to getting their masters. We thought it would be nice to hook them up with lunch to thank them for all they do day in and day out! They were very surprised & more than happy to pay it forward when they were out and about!
Ladies Lunch
Two women came in for lunch yesterday to enjoy their very favorite dish, Fresh Baked Haddock. After stopping by to chat, I learned quite a bit about these ladies. Nearly a 30 year age difference, (one of them feisty as ever at 94) they had found quite the friendship after becoming neighbors some time ago. They were joking about how they almost read each other’s minds sometimes, and how comforting it was to have each other since they had both lost their husbands/family who they spent the majority of their time with. I let them know about our Random Act of Kindness promotion and they thought it was amazing. I told them I was picking up their lunch, and they couldn’t believe it! These are my favorite RAKs! I received hugs from both and a sincere ‘Thank you’. They were more than happy to pay it forward!
Thibodeau from Tilton
Making my rounds, I had stopped at a table to offer to box up their meals as they were noticeably ready to pack it up. They proceeded to let me know how much they enjoyed their meals, and how they absolutely loved the Crawfish Gumbo & Jambalaya from our Louisiana Cookin’ menu. They were the sweetest couple and I knew that they would be perfect to receive a little something special. I let them know that they were my RAK & explained what our company was doing and they loved it! They let me know that they came all the way from Tilton to join us for the evening and that we had just made their night and couldn’t wait to spread the word!
Giggly Girls
Thursday we had a group of young girls who had a case of the giggles. They were clearly excited to be out for lunch and seeing all their friends & teachers come and go as they too were on school vacation. Since they had just missed Kids Eat Free by one day, I hooked them & their babysitter up with lunch on us! They were very appreciative and happy to go out and find someone to PIF to!
Father Son Lunch
Today’s RAK went to a father and son who were dining in for lunch. They seemed to really be enjoying each others’ company and I think those are the times you have to cherish the most! I hooked them up with lunch and they couldn’t even believe it! They were heading right out to pay it forward 🙂
